Operation "Rübezahl". A captured second lieutenant of the 1st Mountain Division kips huddled under a tree at the foot of Sinjajevina, with a broken spirit, and a broken nose. He came to Yugoslavia, probably not for the first time, with the task of pursuing the Partisans, and now he is forced to retreat with them before his own troops. (The elite 1st Mountain Division was sent four times to Yugoslavia during World War II: in April 1941, April 1943, November 1943 and August 1944.) Resting beside the prisoner is a group of refugees – women, children and the elderly, who left their homes in fear of the Germans and retreated into the woods along with the Partisans.

Operacija "Ribecal". Zarobljeni potporučnik 1. brdske divizije kunja šćućuren pod drvetom u podnožju Sinjajevine, slomljenog duha, i slomljenog nosa.

Chetniks of Yugoslavia. A "Newsweek" magazine cover dated 8 November 1943, with a picture of officers of the Chetnik Nevesinje Corps; from left to right: Lieutenant Miloje Lazarević, commander of the Nevesinje Brigade (armed with an MP 40 submachine gun), Lieutenant Tomo Guzina, chief of intelligence and chief of staff of the Nevesinje Corps (armed with an MAB 38 submachine gun), Lieutenant Mihajlo Koprivica, commander of the Gacko Brigade (armed with a Luger pistol), and journalist Jovan Lazarević, a member of the High Command Propaganda Department (Miloje Lazarević's older brother, armed with an MP 40 submachine gun). Unlike the unfortunate Guzina, who was killed by the Ustashas in Jasenovac, 1945, Koprivica and the Lazarević brothers survived the war, and continued their lives in exile (all three died in the USA – Jovan Lazarević in 1953, Mihajlo Koprivica in 1988 and Miloje Lazarević in 1995).

Jugoslovenski četnici. Naslovna strana američkog časopisa "Nedeljnik" (Newsweek) od 8. novembra 1943. godine, sa slikom oficira četničkog Nevesinjskog korpusa; sleva nadesno: poručnik Miloje Lazarević, komandant Nevesinjske brigade (naoružan automatom MP 40), poručnik Tomo Guzina, šef obaveštajne službe i načelnik štaba Nevesinjskog korpusa (naoružan automatom MAB 38), poručnik Mihajlo Koprivica, komandant Gatačke brigade (naoružan pištoljem parabelumom), i novinar Jovan Lazarević, član propagandnog odeljenja Vrhovne komande (stariji brat Miloja Lazarevića, naoružan automatom MP 40).
