The last days of the war. Officers of the British 6th Armoured Division study their map on a destroyed tank of the SS Karst Jäger Brigade, in the Italian village of Ospedaletto, about 30 km from the Yugoslav border. Standing on the far left is the division commander, Major-General Horatius Murray, and next to him is Brigadier Adrian Gore, commander of the 61st Infantry Brigade and a famous cricketer (the future division commander). The tank is an Italian P26/40 and it was destroyed (with a lateral hit) by a Sherman of the 1st Derbyshire Yeomanry. The British lost several tanks as well, in a joint attack by the SS brigade's armoured company and reservists armed with Panzerfäuste. The karst troopers fought their last battles in the Julian Alps (Yugoslav-Italian border) and Karawanks (Yugoslav-German border); their main task was to ensure the passage of the German troops retreating from Yugoslavia to Germany, allowing them to surrender to the British army instead of to the Yugoslav Partisans, from whom they expected a fierce revenge. They surrendered five days after this shot was made, on 9 May 1945, to the same British division.

Poslednji dani rata. Sasvim levo stoji komandant divizije, general-major Horacije Marej, a do njega je brigadni general Adrijan Gor, komandant 61. pešadijske brigade i proslavljeni kriketaš (budući komandant divizije).
