The face of a man well aware of his terrible fate: Franc Kunaver Sulc, the only surviving member of the Partisan Pohorje Battalion; posing next to him are the contented German policemen, who bounded his hands in chains. In a forest camp at Osankarica on Pohorje, in a three-hour battle against six companies of the Order Police, 350 members of the Army and a battalion of the ethnic German militia, died all 69 (of 70) members of the Partisan battalion. A few months later, Sulc was killed as well, as a hostage. He was 29 years old, a locksmith by profession, born in the village of Stranska Vas, near Dobrova.
